News & Articles About Cleanroom Manufacturing
- Tacky Mats
21st July 2006New! Tacky mats can be used in any areas where contamination such as dust and dirt needs to be removed from footwear. This includes medical, pharmaceutical, electronics, aerospace, nuclear and general building, construction and work areas. In some cases tacky mats are used to ensure that particulate is not treaded into a work area such as a Lab. In other instance they can be employed preventing dirt from being tramped from a work area such as a construction site into more general office areas.
- Nonwoven Lab Coats, Howie coats and Coveralls
5th July 2006New! Nonwoven as the name indicates is a fabric that is not a traditional weave like cotton which is used for example in tea shirt. It is constructed from plastic like polymer such as, Polypropylene, Nylon, Polyester, etc normally in a single or multi filament which is laid down on a platform know as a web former and gently melted together.
- Understanding Glove Box Technology
29th June 2006New! Glove boxes are used to create small controlled environments. They can normally be divided into two different types explained below.
- Disposable Face Masks
12th June 2006Many products and processes need to be protected from the operator working in proximity. Droplets and moisture particles exhaled from the nose and mouth must be kept isolated. Particulate from makeup and other facial products also need to be excluded.
- Cleanroom, laboratory garments, wearing/donning.
4th May 2006The primary purpose of building a cleanroom or laboratory is to create an environment superior to "street level" in terms of particles, sterility and other forms of contamination. This often represents a significant investment in buildings and manpower.
- Understanding desiccator technology
24th April 2006As components and products become smaller and more sophisticated they become more susceptible to damage by moisture. Once the moisture is absorbed it can have disastrous consequences for the products integrity often making them unserviceable. This is true in many industries from Electronics, Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Medicines.
- "ShieldOut" Encapsulated Suit
24th April 2006The encapsulated suit represents a departure from existing similar products and signifies a low cost/ high use benefit. The "ShieldOut" suit is made from the U.S. trademarked SureShieldTm material which is compatible with DuPont's NexGen.
- A Healthy Environment for Medical Device Development
24th April 2006Innovations in mini-environments continue to cut costs and shorten development cycles for medical device manufacturers. A new generation of multi-chamber cabinets with multiplexed control systems enhances a broad range of biocompatibility testing, accelerated life studies and similar experiments...
- Modular vs Permanent Cleanrooms
24th April 2006For many of today's Cleanroom applications where it is important to get a new product quickly to market, Sirus's modular cleanrooms offer compelling advantages over permanent, fixed installations.
- Boulby Mine Dark Matter Cleanroom
23rd February 2006A cleanroom ? a special particle and contamination free enclosed environment ? has been constructed over 1000m below sea level under the North Sea bed. The cleanroom was supplied by Sirus Microtech Ltd for CCLRC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory as a Dark Matter research facility conducting world leading experiments into the nature of exotic subatomic particles called ?WIMPS?.

What To Look For When Selecting Labcoats & Coveralls
22nd February 2006The day of the scruffy lab coat or coverall is over. Modern materials and modern manufacturing techniques ensure that no matter what Industry or application, clean smart garments are inexpensively available.
-
Modular Cleanrooms - Cleaner Manufacturing Environments
21st February 2006Almost everything we make today has stringent constraints applied to it. Be it that the product needs to be lighter, smaller, use less power, look better or just plain last longer - any one of these constraints can be compromised by contamination...
-
Removal Of Particulate Using Carbon Dioxide
20th February 2006Removal of 0.1 micron contaminants can be attempted using liquid washes, compressed air or dry nitrogen, however particles of 2 microns and smaller are difficult to remove using these conventional methods. C02 cleaning may be the answer.
-
Non Aqueous Cleaning | Cleaning With Air
19th February 2006There are several different wash processes for removing particles, most of which work very well, however in certain circumstances washing is not possible or effective.

Problems Presented By Static Electricity In Cleanrooms
18th February 2006In our every day life static electricity is a minor irritation, but in modern day cleanrooms electrostatic discharge and particle attraction caused by static can have a major impact on the operation of a cleanroom and have to be addressed.
